When will Bangladesh ask for Sheikh Hasina back, says press secretary.

Sheikh Hasina will be asked for back after some legal procedures as per the extradition agreement with India, said the press secretary to the chief advisor, Shafiqul Alam. He said this at a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy this Sunday evening.

Shafiqul Alam said, ‘Our government’s position on the return of Sheikh Hasina is very clear. We want to bring her back to the country and face the law. She is the one who ordered the massacre that took place, the killing of 1,500 people in July-August.’

The press secretary to the chief advisor said, ‘Before this, he was the head of the government. Every year, 16 billion dollars is smuggled, which is the money of the people of the country. It has been stolen and gone abroad. We are committed to bringing her to justice for all this.’

Shafiqul Alam also said, ‘To bring Sheikh Hasina back from India, since we have an extradition treaty with India, we can request her extradition after completing some legal procedures as per that treaty.’

He said, ‘We are completing those procedures. After completing this, we will formally request her extradition from India.’
