4 cases of extortion against Tariq Rahman canceled
The High Court has quashed four cases filed against BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman in 2007 in capital’s Kafrul police station on charges of extortion.
On Wednesday, the High Court bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain declared the ruling issued on the question of cancellation of the case as appropriate and gave this verdict.
Earlier, the High Court fixed the date on Monday (October 21).
Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon heard on behalf of Tariq Rahman in the court. Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Sanjida Siddiqui and other BNP lawyers were also there.
Lawyers said that these cases were filed against Tariq Rahman during the caretaker government supported by the army in 2007.
