Cyclone ‘Dana’ is forming in Bay of Bengal

The deep air pressure over the Bay of Bengal is moving further west-northwestward and intensifying into Cyclone ‘DANA’.

This information was given in the serial number-3 special circular of weather signed by meteorologist Md Shahinul Islam today on Wednesday.

According to the notification, the deep depression over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas is moving further west-northwest and staying in the same area.

Tuesday midnight, the deep depression was located 725 km south-southwest of Chittagong seaport, 650 km south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar seaport, 730 km south-southeast of Mongla seaport and 680 km south-southeast of Payra seaport. It may move further west-northwestward and intensify into a Cyclone storm.

Maximum sustained wind speed is 50 km/h within 48 km of the deep depression center, increasing to 60 km/h in gusty or gusty forms. Oceans are rough in the vicinity of deep depressions.

Due to this, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra sea ports have been asked to display remote warning signal number 1.

Apart from this, all fishing boats and trawlers operating in North Bay of Bengal and deep sea have been asked to proceed cautiously near the coast until further notice.
